Heavenly Home Academy

About Heavenly Home Academy

Heavenly Home Academy is a school in Ghana (West Africa) which was started by a Ghanian woman named Love Kwofie. She started the school hoping to educate the children of her own community in which the standard of living is very low. Being a teacher herself she understands education is the only way to lift her community out of the despairs of poverty and illiteracy.

She started the school outside of her home, starting with a nursery where she would care for young kids allowing the parents to be free to work during the day. As the school expands space is getting more and more limited. With 400+ kids now attending Heavenly Home the kids are studying in make shift class rooms which leak in the rainy season and the higher grades have no classrooms and are therefore studying on Aunty Love's veranda.

The founder of the school and the PTA have been able to acquire eight plots of land - approximately one acre, and construction is on-going at this new site. As part of solving the accommodation problems of the school, the management has constructed a two classroom block which has been portioned into four classroom for temporary use, while constructions is on-going.

This is an ongoing project that can only be completed by help form outside sources. Any donations are greatly appreciated, please do so by following the "Donate Now!" link.
